Andreas Zierl

Andreas Zierl (born January 12, 1961 in Heidelberg ) is a German classical philologist .

Life

After graduating from the humanistic Karl-Friedrich-Gymnasium in Mannheim in 1980, he studied classical philology, history and philosophy at the universities of Würzburg , Tübingen and Munich from 1980 to 1987 . In autumn 1986 he passed the first state examination in Greek and Latin and in spring 1987 in history. With a thesis on affects in tragedy and tragedy theory. He received his doctorate in 1990 from Oresty, Oidipus Tyrannos and the Poetics of Aristotle . From 1991 to 1993 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Classical Philology at the University of Munich in the research project Pre-Socratic Thinking . From the winter semester 1991 to the summer semester 1995 he had a teaching position at this university at the Institute for Classical Philology. He completed his legal clerkship in Greek, Latin and Philosophy from 1993 to 1995. In 1995 he passed the first state examination in philosophy and the second state examination in Greek, Latin and philosophy. From winter semester 1995 to summer semester 2001 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Classical Philology at the University of Munich at the Ernst Vogts chair . He taught at the Ignaz-Günther-Gymnasium in Rosenheim (2001-2004) since April 2003 as a teacher and at the Riemenschneider-Gymnasium Würzburg (2004-2009). Since 2009 he has been a senior student councilor at the Deutschhaus-Gymnasium Würzburg. After completing his habilitation in Classical Philology in December 2010 at the Technical University of Dresden with a study entitled Word and Thought. He teaches there as a private lecturer to criticize the linguistic mediation of Plato and Plotinus .
