Andrei Sergejewitsch Markow ( Russian Андрей Сергеевич Марков ; born January 24, 1980 in Moscow ) is a former Russian archery biathlete and the most successful representative of this sport at world championships with 12 titles and in the World Cup with two overall victories.

Andrei Markow began his successful international career at the World Archery Championships in 2001 in Pokljuka , where he won the title in individual, mass start and relay races with Ivan Maslennikow , Maxim Menshikov and Vladimir Fomichev and came third in the pursuit race behind Alberto Peracino and Jurij Dmytrenko . In 2002 he won the sprint, pursuit and with Mikhail Voronin , Maslennikow and Igor Samoilow in the relay race in Ruhpolding . In addition, there was the win of the silver medals in the mass start behind Voronin and in the individual behind Samoyilov. In Krün in 2003 he was first behind Andrej Zupan second in the sprint and then won the pursuit. Markov also won the mass start race and the relay title. He also won the overall World Cup, as in the following season in 2004. The 2004 World Championship in Pokljuka also brought great success with gold in the sprint, the pursuit race and alongside Maslennikow, Samoilow and Igor Borisov in the relay race. Only in the mass start did he achieve a less good result in 12th place due to seven shooting errors. The three title wins in a row that he had achieved in the pursuit race, neither before nor after another archery biathlete in an individual competition. In 2005, Markow finished second in the overall World Cup standings behind Borisow.

2004 won Markov in Berlin the first European Cup in arch running the silver medal and won with the roller ski-arm Biathlon Championships in Russia's Izhevsk . In 2006 he reached second place at the open Dutch championships in archery.

Andrei Markow lives in Khanty-Mansiysk and is the trainer of the regional teams of the Autonomous Okrug of Khanty and Mansi / Ugra in archery biathlon and archery . In December 2009 he was appointed head of the biathlon competitions of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .
