Andrej Zupan (born February 9, 1971 ) is a former Slovenian biathlete who achieved his successes mainly in archery biathlon .

Andrej Zupan initially contested a few races in the winter biathlon in the 1992/1993 season . He competed in his first race in an individual in Pokljuka and was 98. In the following sprint he achieved his best World Cup result with a 94th place.

Towards the end of the decade he switched to archery biathlon. Apart from the first world championships in 1998 , he took part in all six archery biathlon world championships between 1999 and 2007 . In 2001 he won his first world championship medal in Kubalonka behind record world champion Andrei Markow with silver in the mass start race. A year later in Pokljuka he also won a silver medal, now with Rok Rant , Boris Andrejka and Matej Krumpestar as the starting runners of the relay behind the representation of Russia. His most successful year was in Krün in 2003 . In the sprint, he won the gold medal ahead of Markow. With Ivan Maradin , Vid Vončina and Krumpestar he also won the relay silver behind Russia and Ukraine. In 2004 he won medals again in Pokljuka. In the sprint as well as in the pursuit race he was second behind Markow, and in the relay race he won the silver medal with Jože Poklukar , Gaber Lah and Krumpestar. Zupan won last medals in Forni Avoltri in 2005 with silver in the sprint behind Igor Borissow and with Krumpestar, Jaka Marinšek and Voncina behind the representation of Russia in the relay competition.

Zupan was also successful at European level and took part in both European championships that were held. In 2000 he won the pursuit title in Pokljuka ahead of Sebastien Gardoni and Alberto Peracino and was third in the individual behind Fabrizio Salvadori and Gardoni. In 2001 he won the title in pursuit again in front of Maxim Menshikov and Peracino. In the World Cup in 2002 , Zupan came third in the overall ranking behind Michail Voronin and Hugo Loewert . In 2004 only Markov was better, in 2005 the Slovenian was again third in the overall ranking behind Igor Borissow and Markow. He won the Pursuit World Cup in 2002.
