Andrea Sambu Sipe

Andrea Sambu Sipe (also Andrew Sambu; born October 5, 1972 in Mbulu ) is a Tanzanian long-distance runner .

At the African Athletics Championships in 1990 in Cairo, he won silver in the 5000 m and 10,000 m . The following year he won the junior race of the Cross Country World Championships in Antwerp and the Giro Media Blenio , but retired from the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo over 5000 m in the preliminary run. Over the same distance, he finished tenth at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.

He then switched to road running and set the current course record at the Saint-Denis half marathon in 1996 .

In 2001 he reported back with a victory at the Prague Marathon and was twelfth in the Chicago Marathon . He came second in Prague in 2002 and in the Cologne Marathon in 2002 and 2003. In 2004 he was fourth in the Ruhr Marathon and second in the JoongAng Seoul Marathon , in 2005 fourth in the Seoul International Marathon and in 2007 fourth in the Belgrade Marathon .

In 2010 he was third in the Utrecht Marathon and eighth in the Danzhou Marathon . 2013 followed a ninth place in Danzhou.
