Andrei Sergeyevich Parfyonov ( Russian Андрей Сергеевич Парфёнов * 17th December 1987 in troitsko-pechorsk ) is a Russian cross-country skiers . He starts in the sprint discipline.

Career

Parfjonow has been taking part in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2005 . He ran his first World Cup race at the beginning of the 2007/08 season in Düsseldorf , which he finished in 40th place in the sprint. In December 2007 he started the Eastern Europe Cup in Krasnogorsk for the first time and finished 22nd place over 15 km classic. At the Tour de Ski 2007/08 , he finished 43rd in the overall ranking. He got his first World Cup points with fourth place in the sprint in Prague . At the beginning of the 2008/09 season in Düsseldorf he reached eighth place in the sprint, his first top ten placement in an individual World Cup race. Further placements in the points followed. In December 2008 he got his first podium finishes in the Eastern Europe Cup in the sprint in Krasnogorsk with third and first places. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , he came fourth in the team sprint with Nikita Krjukow . He finished the season in 30th place in the sprint classification. In January 2010 he won bronze in the sprint at the U23 World Championships 2010 in Hinterzarten . The following month he took second place in the sprint at the Eastern Europe Cup in Rybinsk . At the Russian championships in 2010 and 2011, he took silver in the sprint. Since the 2010/11 season he has mainly started at the Eastern Europe Cup. He won the sprint in Werschina Tjoi at the beginning of the 2010/11 season . In the further course of the season he came four times in the top ten, including second place in the sprint in Moscow and at the end of the season reached second place in the overall ranking of the Eastern Europe Cup. In the following season he reached two top ten placements in the Eastern Europe Cup including third place in the sprint in Krasnogorsk. After third place in the sprint in Vershina Tjoi at the beginning of the 2013/14 season, he reached third place in the sprint in Syktywkar and finished sixth in the overall standings at the end of the season. At the beginning of the following season he came in second and first place in the sprint at the Eastern Europe Cup in Vershina Tjoi. Two sprint wins in Krasnogorsk followed. In January 2015 he reached his first podium in the World Cup with third place in the sprint in Rybinsk. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 in Falun , he came 31st in the sprint. He finished the season in first place in the overall ranking of the Eastern Europe Cup. In the 2015/16 season he finished sixth in the overall Eastern Europe Cup ranking. He achieved third place in Syktywkar, second place in Moscow and won the sprint in Minsk . The following season he won the sprint in Minsk and reached 20th place in the overall ranking of the Eastern Europe Cup. In February 2017 he took third place in the sprint at the World Cup in Pyeongchang and first place together with Gleb Retiwych in the team sprint. The following month he was third in the sprint at the Russian Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk .
