Andy Schumacher is a German rock - drummer and actor .

Life

Schumacher grew up in Freiburg and learned to play drums at the age of 14. A short time later he played in various bands. In 1982 he began his three-year percussion studies at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern. After several musically successful years in Freiburg, he moved to Berlin in September 1997 and founded the Kreuzberg drum factory . Today Andy Schumacher lives with his family in Freiburg and runs the Wiehrebahnhof music school here .

Career

As a schoolboy, Schumacher played in several bands with which he toured in Switzerland, Italy and France. The most successful of these was Eat Amps Alive in the late 1980s . As a studio musician, Schumacher took part in numerous recordings, commercials and film scores. Other projects from his time in Freiburg in the mid-1990s include: a. N'Deez Soul, Bernd Heitzler, Cécile Verny and Pitchwork. He also played with international artists such as Rhonda Smith (USA), Nippy Noya (NL), Kat Dyson (USA) and Bruce Bowland (USA). In Berlin he worked with stars like Gordon Raphael (USA), the producer of The Strokes , stood on stage with Ivan Král (CZ) or Kate Hall (DK) and played in TV shows with Joe Cocker (GB), Lionel Richie (USA) or Marquess (D). In 2006 he accompanied the German tour of Juliette and the Licks (USA) with the punk band Toxic Lies , in 2007 he was on a package tour with Motörhead and Overkill with the hard rock band Skew Siskin (D) . He is internationally booked and was most recently with Jimi Jamison ( Survivor ), ABBACapella (D), Swede Sensation (D), Discofever (D), Dominoe (D) and the drummer performance Drum Connection .

As an actor, Schumacher can be seen in various small roles in film and series productions, for example in series such as Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten , Weg zum Glück or Butterflies im Stomach , in German cinema and television productions such as Der Baader-Meinhof-Complex and in international ones Cinema productions like Inglourious Basterds by Quentin Tarantino or The Invasion with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig .
