Angela Dolgner

Angela Dolgner (born July 30, 1955 in Burgstädt ) is a German architect and art historian .

Life

Angela Dolgner graduated in 1980 after studying architecture at the Weimar University of Architecture and Construction (now the Bauhaus University ). She then worked as a project engineer in a project planning office in Weimar and in 1983 moved to the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg as a research assistant in the art history department (today the Institute for Art History and Archeologies in Europe). In 1989 she was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. From 1987 to 2016 she was employed at the Burg Giebichenstein Art College in Halle . There she took over the management of the archive in 1988, and in 1997 also that of the custody. Dolgner has also been chairwoman of the Friends and Supporters of the Art Museum Moritzburg Halle (Saale) eV since 1990 and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Moritzburg Foundation - Art Museum of Saxony-Anhalt from 2003 to 2013. She also deals with architecture, art, animal and repro photography.

Dolgner curated a large number of exhibitions on 20th century art, particularly in the fields of architecture , painting , book art , typography and enamel art. As an author, co-author and editor, she has so far published more than 170 specialist publications, primarily on the architectural history of historicism as well as the history of art and design and typography of modernism. She edited some writings with her husband Dieter Dolgner (born May 4, 1940 in Reinberg), with whom she has been married since 1985. In recent years Dolgner has increasingly published his own photographs and has been responsible for the design concept of the publications on several occasions.
