Angelika Marienfeld

Angelika Marienfeld (born July 13, 1954 in Cologne ) is a German lawyer , administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1974, Marienfeld began studying law at the University of Cologne , which she completed with the first state examination in 1980 and the second state examination in 1983. She joined the tax administration in 1984, completed her induction period and was seconded to the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Finance in 1985.

Public offices

Marienfeld had been the federal agent for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2003 and on October 15, 2004 became head of the state chancellery in the state government led by Prime Minister Peer Steinbrück . After Jürgen Rüttgers was elected Prime Minister in 2005, although a member of the SPD, she became State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, led by Helmut Linssen . She resigned from this office after the Rüttger government was replaced by the Kraft I government in July 2010.
