Angels of Death ( 殺戮 の 天使 Satsuriku no Tenshi , German angel of death ) is an RPG maker computer game from the developer KRNKRN, namely Makoto Sanada , which was initially released on Steam for PC on December 20, 2016 . A publication for smartphones took place in 2017; in 2018 the game was released as a downloadable version for the Nintendo Switch .
Even before the game was released, Angels of Death was published as a manga series . In July 2018, it was implemented as an anime series by Studio JCStaff .

Rachel Gardner, 13, is under medical treatment after witnessing a murder . However, she wakes up in a basement with no recollections of how she got there, parts of her past, knowing about the murder and that her parents brought her to counseling. While searching for her parents, Rachel is attacked by serial killer Isaac Foster and barely escapes. The girl takes an elevator to the upper floor of basement B5, where she is found by her doctor, Daniel Dickens. Initially, he was friendly towards her. However, Dickens reveals that he has a mad obsession with Rachel's eyes and tries to kill the girl.
During this time, Rachel regains her memories and goes into mental shock . Before Dickens can murder Rachel, Isaac, who has meanwhile reached the same floor, apparently kills him. Foster spares Rachel because she has lost interest in the girl due to her lack of emotion . Rachel also asks Zack to kill her. When Isaac realizes Rachel's intelligence, he promises to kill them as soon as they escape the building they are trapped in.
The two start looking for an escape route. It is known that there are several murderers in the building who are allowed to murder any chosen "victim" who is in their area. Since Isaac broke a rule by murdering Dickens, Dickens is also declared a victim. Rachel and Isaac can defeat floor masters Edward Mason and Catherine Ward on the upper levels, with Isaac being wounded. On level B2 , Rachel faces pastor Abraham Gray, who explains that he staged the whole scenario for a cult experiment. It is also known that Dickens survived Foster's attack. This reveals that he believed that he would chase Rachel and therefore have forged a plan to fake his own death.
After overpowering Gray, Isaac and Rachel get to level B1 . There they are locked by Dickens in a room with fake flowers and the bodies of a couple sewn together . Rachel urges Isaac to kill her. In search of the reason for Rachel's sudden change in her behavior, he finds out that Rachel is the master of this level. She watched her father kill her mother. In self-defense, she kills her father when he tries to murder her too. She sewed up her parents' corpses to make them her “ideal family”. She was arrested by the police , questioned and then taken to Dickens for treatment. While Isaac finds out the truth about Rachel, Dickens shoots and tries to kill Isaac in a state of mental illusion due to her blind faith . However, Isaac can bring her back to her senses and remind her of the promise they made together.
When the two reach the exit of the building, Danny, who also survived the second attack, sets it on fire and inflicts a critical wound on Rachel with a gun. Shortly thereafter, Gray appears and stands in Dickens' way so Rachel and Isaac can escape. Shortly afterwards, the police reached the scene. Isaac is arrested to save Rachel's life. Days later he is sentenced to death by a court for being a wanted serial killer and suspected of having murdered Rachel's parents. Rachel is, however, due to an apparent delirium in and her affection for Isaac psychiatry brought. A little later she says that her condition has improved. A few days after the verdict, Foster breaks out of prison and breaks into Rachel's patient room to keep the promise. Rachel and Zack escape the facility, again pleading with him to kill her. When the police arrive at the clinic, only blood is shown on Rachel's broken window, indicating that Isaac fulfilled the oath and killed her.

The manga by Kudan Nazuka and Makoto Sanada has appeared in the Gekkan comic Gene in Japan since January 27, 2016 . So far the series comprises eight volumes. Yen Press acquired the rights to the English language manga publisher in North America .

Anime
On July 24, 2017, it was announced that the computer game would be adapted as an anime series . In December of the same year it was announced that the anime would be produced by the animation studio JCStaff and that it would be broadcast in 2018. The series then started on July 6, 2018 on Tokyo MX , AT-X , KBS Kyoto , TV Aichi , Sun TV , BS11 and TVQ .
Masaaki Endo plays the title in the opening credits called Vital , while Haruka Chisuga sings the song Pray in the credits. Crunchyroll and Funimation acquired the rights to broadcast Angels of Death with English subtitles.
