Charles Marvin Green, Jr. (* 16th October 1950 in Charleston , South Carolina ; †  10. December 2017 in Summerville , South Carolina), also known by his Internet pseudonym Angry Grandpa was an American Internet - personality . Some of his videos have been televised on HLN , TruTV , Rude Tube and MTV .

life and death

Green grew up near Sherwood Forest in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of Charles Marvin Green Sr. (born January 25, 1925, † July 6, 1987), a veteran of World War II , and Dorothy Meyers Green (born March 18, 1926; † December 25, 1999). Most recently Green resided in Charleston County after moving out of the trailer park in Moncks Corner in July 2015 .

Since gastric bypass surgery in the 1990s, Green suffered from dumping syndrome . As a result of the resulting pain, he developed an addiction to painkillers, which he brought under control in 2014. In October 2006, Green had a basketball- sized hernia removed from her abdomen. The operation, during which he had to be resuscitated on the operating table, left a scar about 30 cm long.

In February 2017, Green announced in an 8-minute video that he had skin cancer. In the course of this, this was surgically removed. Several videos show how his son Micheal and his girlfriend at the time, Lauren Davi, took care of his surgical wound.

On December 10, 2017, at 4:45 p.m. local time, Green died of end-stage liver cirrhosis in the presence of his immediate family in his home in Summerville, South Carolina .

TheAngryGrandpaShow has over 4 million subscribers and more than a billion video views. His second channel, GrandpasCorner , mainly related to personal stories and current, private events, which he shared in the form of vlogs and so-called Mailbag Mondays , on which he regularly opened mail from his viewers in front of the camera.

In his videos, Green, who suffered from bipolar disorder , was mostly seen in person, while he reacted, mostly negatively, to certain things. These included pranks played on him by his youngest son Michael, who works as a website webmaster and graphic designer , and current affairs, with Michael’s long-time friend, Bridgette West, often by his side. In a 2013 article, Green said he had destroyed all furniture and electronics, including computers , televisions , and telephones . In April 2012, Green posted a video on his channel regarding the sale of a trailer park in North Charleston where he currently resides. Eventually the settlement was sold to a contractor, after which he was forced to move to another trailer park.

Among his most viewed videos is the statement on the death of Caylee Anthony, which was broadcast on Dr. Drew aired on HNL, and a commentary regarding Justin Bieber's two million views on one of his music videos. His reaction to the music video Friday by Rebecca Black was also viral and on the video charts in 2011 by The Guardian listed. In his video Angry Grandpa Destroys PS4 , which has so far been the most clicked , he destroys his son's PlayStation 4 , as the title shows , because he ignored an appointment agreed with Green. One of his first videos under his identity of the Angry Grandpa was released in 2007 and is called Grandpa Ruins Christmas , which was posted on Break.com by his son .
