Anilazine is an active ingredient for crop protection and a heterocyclic organic compound from the group of triazines . It is in the form of a colorless solid and is used as a fungicide .
history
Anilazine was patented by the Ethyl Corporation in 1953 . It was the first plant protection product based on cyanuric chloride .
Extraction and presentation
Anilazine can be obtained by reacting cyanuric chloride and o -chloroaniline .
use
Anilazine is used as a contact fungicide. It is or was used against numerous leaf and fruit diseases (e.g. when infected with Septoria , Alternaria , Colletotrichum coffeanum , Leptosphaeria nodorum and Pyrenophora teres ) in various crops (coffee, grain, tobacco).
Admission
In the EU states including Germany and Austria as well as in Switzerland no pesticides with this active substance are permitted.
