Animate Records is a German music label and online shop based in Großvoigtsberg , Saxony , which was founded in 2002. The stylistic focus is mainly on Death Metal and Black Metal , but also includes Doom Metal , Grindcore , Crustcore , Metalcore , Power Metal , Pagan Metal and Viking Metal .
So far, Animate Records has released LPs, CDs, tapes and merchandise from well-known bands such as Unleashed , Purgatory , Grave , Napalm Death , Terrorizer , Vomitory , Cryptopsy , Kataklysm , Lock Up , Control Denied , Belphegor , Samael , Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult , Coercion , Bloodbath , Krisiun , Blood, Carnage, Kampfar, Master, Agathocles, Hades Almighty, Hate, Master, Agathocles, Funeral Whore or Katatonia and many more acts. In the past few years, Animate Records has specialized in the release of vinyl LPs.
Under the banner of the sub-label "Animate Recorpse", founded on April 20, 2014, high-quality merchandise (mainly T-shirts) for various metal bands are produced. Care is taken to ensure that the raw materials used are not produced by child labor.
