Anita Strebl

Anita Strebl (born January 9, 1946 in Schladming , Styria ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and high school teacher. From 1994 to 2004 she was a member of the Salzburg state parliament .

education and profession

Anita Strebl was born in Schladming and spent her school days in Styria. She first attended elementary school in Haus im Ennstal from 1952 to 1956 and then switched to secondary school from 1956 to 1958 in Schladming, where she was born. In 1958 she left the secondary school and continued her education at the federal high school in Stainach-Irdning . She finally passed the Matura in Stainach-Irdning in 1964 and, after graduating in 1964, began teaching English and German at the University of Salzburg . In 1971 she was able to complete her studies with the academic degree Mag. Phil. In addition, she passed the teaching examination that year. During her studies she worked as a language assistant in Glasgow between 1968 and 1969 , after completing her studies she worked as a teacher at the Nonntal High School in Salzburg between 1971 and 2006.

Politics and functions

Strebl joined the Socialist Party of Austria in 1973 and was chairwoman of the SPÖ youth organization, the young generation in Flachgau. She was also involved as a board member of the SPÖ-affiliated Association of Social Democratic Academics, Intellectuals, and Artists (BSA) and was chairwoman of the SPÖ district women's committee in Flachgau from 1996 to 2003. She also worked as a member of the State Education Committee and the State Party Board of the Salzburg Social Democrats. Strebl was active in local politics from 1984 to 2004 as a member of the municipal council of Grödig.

Strebl was a member of the Salzburg state parliament between May 2, 1994 and April 27, 2004, where she held the role of SPÖ head girl. In addition, from 1983 to 1987 she was a staff representative in the technical committee of the state school board;
