Anja Besand

Anja Besand (* 1971 in Grünstadt (Palatinate) ) is a German social and educational scientist specializing in the didactics of political education .

Life

Between 1991 and 1999 Besand studied teaching at secondary and secondary schools for the subjects of social studies and art education as well as art education , political science and didactics of social sciences at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . From 1998 to 2004 she worked as a research assistant at JLU Gießen before she was appointed junior professor at the Institute for Social Sciences at the Ludwigsburg University of Education in autumn 2004 . During the winter semester 2008/09 Besand took over the representation of the chair for didactics of the social sciences at the JLU Giessen. In April 2009 she accepted a professorship for didactics of political education at the Technical University of Dresden .

Research activity

Her work focuses on the areas of political education, political communication, didactic teaching / learning research and the importance of media in political education.
