You have the power
You have the power is a media initiative founded in 2010 to promote the political interests of young people, funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation and implemented by the film and television production company UFA GmbH .
activity
The aim of the initiative is to get young people and young adults excited about politics through online competitions, campaigns and videos, to advertise social engagement and to strengthen their understanding of political issues.
The project You have the power consists of a website and appearances on social networks such as YouTube and Facebook . Interviews with experts and celebrities, street surveys , reports and talk shows are published and disseminated there. In addition, various fictional formats were implemented, such as the comedy show Headliners or the series If you dare to , in which the actress Senta Sofia Delliponti also participated.
The initiative was scientifically evaluated in a study from 2011 to 2013 by the Chair for Didactics of Political Education at the Technical University of Dresden .
Projects (selection)
RAPutation
In 2013, the project hosted the RAPutation casting show for the first time, which sought the best young political rapper in Germany. The format, moderated by Visa Vie , presented videos that were submitted, which were then judged by the viewers and a jury. Fixed members of the jury were Hadnet Tesfai and Fard . In individual rounds they were supplemented by Telly Telz and Nate57 , Sookee and Amewu , Azad as well as Alpa Gun and Chefket .
Some applicant videos were also played to politicians such as Hans-Gert Pöttering , Wolfgang Thierse and Volker Beck and discussed with them. The candidate Matondo met Renate Künast to introduce her to his neighborhood and to talk about the problems there.
In 2014 the show was performed again. Permanent members of the jury were Sookee , Weekend and MoTrip . Guest jurors were Blumio , Marcus Staiger and Eko Fresh . Politicians involved were u. a. Gregor Gysi , Jens Spahn , Özcan Mutlu and Cansel Kiziltepe .
RAPutation received the Civis Media Prize for Integration in 2013 and was nominated for the Grimme Online Award .
Listened
At the end of February 2012, young people, music and sports stars and politicians got into conversation at the politainment show Listening . The rappers Blumio and Megaloh , the boxer Susi Kentikian and the politicians Cem Özdemir , Klaus Ernst and Brigitte Zypries took part in a boxing ring in the Malzfabrik in Berlin . The event was moderated by Visa Vie, Rainer Jilg and you-have-the-power editor-in-chief Anna Mauersberger.
