Anna Gerasimou (born October 15, 1987 ) is a former Greek tennis player .

Career

Gerasimou, who started playing tennis at the age of six, played primarily tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she won seven singles and three doubles titles. She completed her first tournament as a professional in June 2002 in Thessaloniki , in March 2004 she reached a quarter-finals at the tournament in Athens for the first time, in which she lost to Maria Geznenge 2: 6 and 1: 6. She reached her first final in March 2005 in Athens, where she was defeated by Mădălina Gojnea with 1: 6 and 3: 6. She won her first title in May 2006 in Antalya with a final victory over Çağla Büyükakçay (6: 3, 6: 2).

She played her last match on the professional tour at the end of September 2010, and has not been in the world rankings since 2011.

In 2008 she and her partner Eleni Daniilidou competed in the women's doubles at the Olympic Games . They were defeated by the Swiss pairing Emmanuelle Gagliardi / Patty Schnyder with 0: 6 and 4: 6.

Gerasimou played for the Greek Fed Cup team since 2004 . With 25 nominations, she came up with a total of 35 games, 24 of which were singles. Her record shows 17 wins (14 in singles) and 18 defeats.
