Patricia Mayr-Achleitner (born November 8, 1986 in Rum , Tyrol ) is a former Austrian tennis player . She plays in the German Bundesliga for TC Moers 08 .

Career

Patricia Mayr tried her first time as a qualifier in Linz on the WTA Tour in 2003 . So far she has won 17 singles and - with changing partners - seven doubles on the ITF Women's Circuit . She reached her highest position in the world rankings on May 4, 2009 with position 70.

She has been playing for Austria in the Fed Cup since 2008 . She made her debut in the first round match against Argentina in February, and lost her individual to Maria-Emilia Salerni 5: 7, 6: 3, 2: 6. Your personal Fed Cup balance now shows 14 wins out of 15 defeats.

In 2003 Mayr played in Linz with a wildcard for the first time as a qualifier on the WTA Tour . In addition, she only appeared in a few ITF tournaments in 2003 and 2004 . In 2005 she played nine ITF tournaments and she won her first ITF title on October 2, 2005 in Volos . Two weeks later she won both singles and doubles in Benicarló . In 2006 and 2007 she only played ITF tournaments. In 2008 she received a wildcard for the main field of the WTA tournament in Bad Gastein , where she reached the quarter-finals after victories over the German Martina Müller and the Paraguayan Rossana De Los Rios . There she had to admit defeat to Lucie Hradecká 3: 6 and 1: 6. She ended 2008 at number 123 in the world rankings.

In 2009 Mayr started with defeats; at the WTA tournament in Auckland, she lost 4: 6, 0: 6 in the first qualifying round to the Japanese Rika Fujiwara . A week later she failed in the first qualifying round in Hobart, Tasmania , 2: 6, 4: 6 to Stéphanie Dubois . At the Australian Open , she then made it into the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time . After her first victory over the German Julia Schruff , she had to admit defeat Kaia Kanepi 3: 6 and 1: 6 in the second round . She was also in the second round at Wimbledon .

Since she could not prevail in the first quarter of 2010 on the WTA Tour, she focused on ITF events. Here she won the singles tournaments in Jounieh , Zlín , Rome and Olomouc in 2010 .

Mayr-Achleitner failed in 2011 in round one of all Grand Slam tournaments of the year. In the spring she won the ITF tournaments in Buenos Aires and Zlín . At the tournament in Bad Gastein , she reached her first WTA final, which she lost to María José Martínez Sánchez .

Mayr-Achleitner started the year 2014 in Shenzhen , where she defeated Risa Ozaki and Klára Zakopalová before losing 6: 3, 3: 6 and 1: 6 to Annika Beck in the quarter-finals . In doubles, she reached the semi-finals with Johanna Konta . At the Australian Open , she failed at Madison Keys . At the tournament in Pattaya , she was also eliminated in the first round.

Mayr-Achleitner ended her tennis career in October 2015 because of back problems.
