Anna Müller-Lincke (born April 8, 1869 in Berlin ; † January 24, 1935 there ; born Anna Waldmüller ) was a German soubrette and stage and film actress .

Life

Anna Müller-Lincke is said to have played a child role on stage at the age of four. Before switching to silent films, she was a well-known soubrette and stage actress. Among other things, she played in the Ostend Theater in Berlin on Große Frankfurter Straße. There she met the bassoonist and later operetta composer Paul Lincke in 1885 and married him in 1893. In 1898 the couple divorced.

She also played at the Victoria Theater , the Belle Alliance Theater , the Central Theater , Adolf Ernst Theater and seven years at the renowned Metropol Theater and Lessing Theater . Performances have taken her to France, Holland, Denmark, Russia and North and South America.

Since 1910 she has also appeared in silent films , where she has been successful in comedies, including alongside the later director Ernst Lubitsch . As a former singer, the beginning of the sound film did not cause her any difficulties. She played in such well-known productions as The True Jacob , Lumpenball and Hitler Youth Quex .
