Anna Wassiljewna Chapman ( Russian Анна Васильевна Чапман ; born: Кущенко , Kushchenko ; born February 23, 1982 in Kharkiv ) is a Russian TV presenter , model , fashion designer and former agent .

Life

Anna Chapman is the daughter of the former KGB officer Vasily Kushchenko. She grew up in Russia, married the British citizen Alex Chapman in 2002 and lived with him in London . The marriage was divorced in 2006.

During her time in London, she is said to have made millions in money transactions through her father to Zimbabwe in order to finance Russian agent activities.

Chapman worked as a real estate agent in New York City . She was arrested by the FBI on June 27, 2010 along with nine other agents . On July 9, 2010, the agents at Vienna Airport were exchanged for four other agents , including the nuclear physicist Igor Sutjagin convicted of espionage . Her British citizenship was subsequently revoked.

In December 2010 she took on a top position in Molodaja Gwardija , the youth organization of the United Russia party .

After her arrest, British tabloids published photos from her Facebook profile as well as nudes from her ex-husband's possession.

In 2011, Colonel Alexander Nikolayevich Poteev was sentenced in absentia to 25 years imprisonment by a Russian military tribunal for betraying Chapman.

From January 2011 to 2014 and again since 2015, she has hosted a “mystery TV show” (Тайны Чапман / Tajny Chapman) on the Russian private broadcaster RenTV , to which the Irish Independent wrote that it was dedicated to “crazy conspiracy theories ”, a genre of which other similar programs exist in Russian media.
