Annalisa Cucinotta (born March 4, 1986 in Latisana ) is a former Italian cyclist who was mainly active on the track .
Athletic career
Annalisa Cucinotta comes from a cycling family. She was trained by her older brother Claudio . As a junior, Annalisa Cucinotta was junior world champion in scratch in 2004 as well as three-time Italian champion on the track , in the points test , in the sprint and in the 500-meter time trial . She also became Junior European Champion in Scratch and Vice European Champion in Sprint and Time Trial. The year before, she had become vice European junior champion in scratch. In 2006 she was second in the European Keirin Championship (U23) and won two stages of the Polish road race Tour Dookola Polski .
Since 2004, Cucinotta has also competed internationally in the elite and was able to place herself among the best tooth several times at the UCI track world championships in scratch. From 2007 Cucinotta started nationally in the elite and won two Italian championship titles, in scratch and keirin and was again vice European champion in scratch (U23). In 2008 she finished fourth in the scratch at the World Railroad Championships in Manchester .
In December 2008, Annalisa Cucinotta tested positive for anabolic steroids during a doping control and was banned for two years. Because of the doping, she should be excluded from the national team, but could file a lawsuit.
In 2013, Cucinotta was again three-time Italian champion, in sprint, scratch and time trial. 2015 she won at the track European Championships in Switzerland Grenchen silver in the elimination races . In the same year she won a stage each of the Ladies Tour of Qatar and the Giro d'Italia Femminile . After her Lensworld-Kuota team disbanded at the end of 2017, she announced her retirement from competitive cycling.
Annalisa Cucinotta works as a carabiniere in Bassano del Grappa (as of 2018).
