Johanne Henriette Anna called Anne Bringezu (born January 26, 1898 in Gernrode ; † January 1, 1974 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German politician ( DVP , FDP ) and a member of the Advisory State Committee for Greater Hesse .

Education and life

Anne Bringezu was born as the daughter of the wealthy nursery owner Franz Fröhlich and his wife Caroline Auguste. The parents, who were of Protestant faith, lived in Quedlinburg, where Anne Fröhlich attended the secondary girls' school from 1904 to 1907 and then the Lyceum until 1915. She finished school without a qualification and did a commercial apprenticeship and then worked in this area. In September 1921 she married Otto Bringezu from Quedlinburg. At that time he was studying literature, art history, theater studies and library studies in Leipzig. It finances his studies up to his doctorate.

After graduating from school, the Bringezu couple moved to Bremen, where he was an editor at the Weser newspaper and she worked as a management secretary at Kaffee Haag from May 1, 1922 . The next professional station was again Quedlinburg, where he worked as an editor and from October 18, 1924 she worked as chief secretary at the Quedlinburger Tageblatt . From October 15, 1925, Anne Bringezu was the head of advertising at the Morgenzeitung newspaper in Halberstadt. In October 1926 they move again, this time to Frankfurt: Otto becomes editor of the Frankfurter Nachrichten and Anne works as a housewife.

Social and political engagement

From 1928 she was involved in the organization of the Young People's Party. From 1926 she became the driving force in the Höhenblick settlement community . She looks after the children of the settlement and organizes the children's playground. After the seizure of power by the National Socialists there is regarding this work conflicts, as the Nazis this initiative assume their party organizations. In 1935 Anne Bringezu resigned from the initiative. Her husband Otto was dismissed as editor in 1934. Her husband separated from her in 1935. In 1939 she was divorced (innocently). In 1938 Anne Bringezu became an employee of the Protestant church administration. Your area of ​​responsibility includes childcare in the convalescent home of the Frankfurt Kurverein for children in need of relaxation in Bodenrod . In 1943 she left this position and spent the last months of the war in Bodenrod.

In 1925, Anne Bringez joined the DVP. After the Second World War , she joined the FDP, which at that time was still called the LDP. She was a founding member of the LDP in Frankfurt and one of two women on the first board. For this she was from February 26, 1946 to March 14, 1946 a member of the appointed advisory state committee Greater Hesse, a forerunner of the Hessian state parliament . In the state committee, she was a member of the social policy (as 1st secretary), cultural policy and refugee committee.

She later served as a city councilor in Frankfurt am Main for many years from 1948 to 1962 and was awarded the title of city elder in 1968. In 1964 she was honored with the plaque of honor of the city of Frankfurt am Main .
