Anne Sauer (born April 1, 1991 ) is a German foil fencer . She is a two-time individual and six-time team champion at German fencing championships.
Life
Through a newspaper article in the summer of 2000, Sauer became aware of a trial training session at the Hardheim-Höpfingen fencing club, which she immediately accepted. After starting her fencing career, Sauer moved to the Tauberbischofsheim Fecht Club and graduated from high school in 2010 at the commercial school in Tauberbischofsheim . She then studied at the University of Würzburg until 2014 . Sauer is a member of the Bundeswehr sports promotion group in Mainz.
Career
In 2013 and 2014 as well as 2016 to 2018, Sauer was able to become German champion with the foil team.
In 2017 Sauer became German champion in the individual foil sheet for the first time. In the final at the Tauberbischofsheim Olympic base , she defeated her club mate Leonie Ebert . In 2018 she was able to repeat this success, again against Ebert in the individual final. Before that, Sauer had twice achieved third place in the foil singles at German championships in 2014 and 2016.
After switching to Future Fencing Werbach , Sauer won the gold medal with the foil team at the German Fencing Championships in 2019 .
