"Anne Weiss" (2012)

Anne Weiss , pseudonym of Ann-Kathrin Schwarz (* 1974 ), is a German author .

Career

The author, born near Bremen , studied English , German and cultural studies with a master's degree in Bremen and Coleraine . After traineeships at Eichborn Verlag and at Kiepenheuer & Witsch , she worked as a lecturer at the publishing houses Bastei Lübbe and Ullstein . In 2012 she took over the management of the Bastei Lübbe Academy together with Jan F. Wielpütz (alias Stefan Bonner ), where she also led workshops on writing. In April 2014 both founded a text office in Cologne.

Publications

Together with Stefan Bonner, she published the non-fiction book Generation Doof in 2008 , which was on the Spiegel bestseller list for two years and describes a generation that is supposedly characterized by consumption, media excess and lack of criticism. The follow-up book Doof it Yourself , which appeared in April 2009, also became a Spiegel bestseller, as did Holy Shit (2011), Betamännchen (2014) and Wir Kassettenkinder (2016). In December 2014 and January 2015, Anne Weiss and Switch comedienne Petra Nadolny ran the blog “Shiva Colonia” about their trip through India. Under her pseudonym Anne Weiss, the author writes a column in the diving magazine Unterwasser , for the magazine Federwelt and also for the one day column at Spiegel Online . In their non-fiction book Generation Weltendung , published in 2019, Stefan Bonner and Anne Weiss address the topic of climate change. With Carola Rackete she wrote the book Acting Instead of Hope . According to her own statements, the author lives minimalist, vegan and sustainable, about her lifestyle and her commitment she published an autobiographical book entitled My Life in Three Boxes .

Stage show

In March 2009 Anne Weiss and Stefan Bonner were on stage tour through Germany with a program for their book, the Generation Doof Show . The venues included the Savoy Theater in Düsseldorf, the St. Pauli Theater in Hamburg, the Kaisersaal Erfurt, the Tipi Berlin and the Gloria Cologne.
