Annedore Prengel

Annedore Prengel (* 1944 in Beelitz ) is a German educational scientist and professor emeritus.

Life

Annedore Prengel was born in Beelitz and grew up in Frankenberg an der Eder . She is married to the education historian Hanno Schmitt .

From 1964 to 1967 she studied educational science, social studies, German, art education, sociology and psychology at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . In 1967 she passed the first and in 1970 the second state examination for teaching at elementary, secondary and secondary schools and worked as a teacher from 1967 to 1977.

As an additional degree, she studied from 1971 to 1973 at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz pedagogy for people with learning disabilities and speech therapy . From 1977 to 1984 she was a pedagogical assistant at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , studied philosophy and psychoanalysis and graduated in Gestalt pedagogy . In 1979 she received her diploma in educational science. In 1983 she became a school failure with her dissertation (with Helmut Reiser and Helga Deppe-Wolfinger) . Attempt on discursive, socio-historical and educational exclusion of the feminine to the Dr. phil. PhD .

From 1984 to 1989 she was a research associate in the research project " Integrative Pedagogy at Primary School" of the German Research Foundation . 1989 habilitation them with the habilitation "pedagogy of diversity - diversity and equality in intercultural, feminist and Integrative Pedagogy" at the Technical University of Berlin and then took teaching positions at several universities.

In 1990 she was appointed to a professorship for educational science, elementary school education and women's studies at the University of Paderborn . From 1994 to 2002 she was professor for educational science with a focus on elementary school education at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . At the University of Potsdam , she taught elementary school pedagogy / beginners lessons from 2002 with a special focus on social learning and the integration of the disabled. In 2010 she retired and continues to devote herself to research, teaching, training and publishing. Since 2013 she has been teaching as a senior professor at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

Main focus of work and research

The main focuses of Annedore Prengel's teaching and research activities include: theories of relationality and heterogeneity in education, educational women and gender studies, diversity studies, inclusion and participation in schools and day-care centers, political education and cultural memory, human rights education, Recognition and disregard in school, reform of the elementary and primary sector, pedagogical and didactic diagnostics, qualitative research methods in educational science, practical research and pedagogical self-reflection. Annedore Prengel is a member of the scientific advisory boards at the International Human Rights Forum Lucerne, at the Human Rights Center of the University of Potsdam, at the Center for Educational Integration - Diversity and Democracy in Migration Societies at the University of Hildesheim and in numerous specialist societies. She is involved in the Rochow Museum and Academy for historical and contemporary diagnostic research, where she founded the human rights education working group in 2011, which works in annual expert conferences on the development of the manifesto “Reckahner Reflections on the Ethics of Pedagogical Relationships” . Annedore Prengel is the founder of the INTAKT project network (social interactions in educational fields).
