Anni Neumann

Anni Neumann (born November 13, 1926 in Stettin ) is a former German politician ( SED ). She was a member of the State Council of the GDR .

Life

Neumann, eight of nine children of a locksmith, attended elementary school , completed a compulsory year and worked as a farm worker from 1941 to 1943. From 1943 to 1945 she was drafted into the Reich Labor Service . From 1946 to 1949 she worked as a farm worker at VEG Christinenfeld .

She joined the FDGB in 1946 , the FDJ in 1947 and the SED in 1949. Between 1949 and 1951 she headed a department of the FDJ district leadership Grevesmühlen , was a member of the Mecklenburg state leadership and first secretary of the FDJ district leadership Güstrow . From 1949 to 1952 she was a member of the Central Council of the FDJ. She was then district training officer at the Rostock district council and until 1953 secretary of the Rostock GST district management .

From 1953 Neumann worked at the Neptun shipyard , trained as a skilled worker for steel shipbuilding. From 1955 she worked as a shipbuilding technologist or assistant to the plant manager at the Neptun shipyard. In 1958, after two years of evening studies at the technical college for shipbuilding in Warnemünde, she graduated as the first female shipbuilder in the GDR. From 1959 to 1961 Neumann studied at the Industrial Institute for Shipbuilding at the University of Rostock with a degree in engineering economics .

From 1961 she worked as a personal assistant to the works manager, from 1964 as the main department head for labor economics and from 1971 to 1981 as director for management and training at VEB Schiffswerft Neptun. Since 1974 she has acted as chairwoman of the women's working group of the Minister for Heavy Machinery and Plant Engineering .

In 1953/54 Neumann belonged to the Rostock District Assembly, from 1954 to 1986 - as a member of the FDGB parliamentary group - to the People's Chamber and from 1964 to 1971 to the State Council of the GDR. Since 1976 she was a member of the Economic Committee of the People's Chamber.

In 1981 Neumann retired.
