  3. “The man - descendant of a carpenter family from the small town of Jülich - is now paying the price for his megalomania. Jagdfeld has diversified its business to the almost limitless. He saw himself as an all-rounder who can be clinic operator and organic farmer at the same time, developing shopping centers and managing hotels. An overconfidence that can only fail. In Leipzig, he had to cede the municipal department store, which he renovated for 125 million euros, to a subsidiary of Landesbank Sachsen. Jagdfeld wanted to build an entire district on the 24,000 square meter Tacheles site in east Berlin; today the fallow land is under compulsory administration. He planned to transform the Cumberland House on Berlin's Ku'damm into a luxury hotel. But since the intended operator jumped out, the property was returned to the seller with losses of millions.
