Anno Vey

Anno Vey (born November 15, 1934 in Remagen ; † December 1, 2019 ) was a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ) as well as Mayor of Cochem and Lord Mayor of Ingelheim am Rhein .

Life

Anno Vey attended school in Ahrweiler , Koblenz and Trier and completed a one-year stay in the USA . He studied law and history in Munich , Cologne and Saarbrücken . After the second state examination in law and a three-year activity at the Cochem district office - most recently as a member of the government - he was mayor of the city of Cochem from 1969 to 1975. After his election as Lord Mayor of Ingelheim am Rhein, he worked in this office from January 1976 and after his re-election in 1985 to 1995.

Vey coined a. a. the urban development of Ingelheim played a decisive role, in particular the design and realization of the so-called "city center" with town hall, market square and shops. In addition to his local political tasks, he also campaigned supraregionally, for example in the context of the founding of Ingelheim's town twinning with San Pietro in Cariano and Limbach-Oberfrohna . He also initiated a sponsorship for a speedboat of the German Navy in Ingelheim .

After finishing his political career, Vey worked in various honorary positions . He was a member of the German Association of Towns and Municipalities , board member of the Rhineland-Palatinate City Council and board member of the Rhineland-Palatinate / Burgundy Friendship Circle.

Vey was also a long-time member and honorary member of the Ingelheim Historical Society and published books and lectures a. a. about the time of National Socialism and the years of the Second World War in Ingelheim.

Vey was married and had two children.
