Anselmo Ralph , actually Anselmo Ralph Lamb Andrade Cordeiro da Mota (born March 12, 1981 in Luanda , Angola ) is an Angolan pop singer who has achieved great success primarily as an R&B singer, soul and kizomba musician in Angola, Portugal and other lusophone countries celebrates and is considered one of the most important singers in Angola today.

Anselmo Ralph was born to Angolan diplomat Leal Lamb and Bernadeth Andrade and has several brothers. He graduated from high school in Angola. Since childhood he has suffered from the rare autoimmune disease myasthenia gravis , which forces him to wear sunglasses everywhere, which has become his trademark. His father was in various diplomatic stations and so it happened that Anselmo and his family also had to travel a lot. He lived in Portugal from the age of five, then later as a teenager in Spain , followed by positions in South Africa , Belgium and the former Yugoslavia . At times his father was also the official ambassador of the Republic of Angola in the USA . When he was nine years old, his parents divorced and he moved to live with his father in the United States. In New York , Ralph studied accounting at Manhattan Community College and financed his studies, among other things, with jobs at McDonald’s because he did not want to be dependent on his father. However, he did not finish his studies because of his music career.

Since his stay in Madrid as a teenager, he had the idea of ​​becoming a musician. The boy, considered shy and shy as a child and adolescent, released a CD in Angola in 1997 - unsuccessful and insignificant - with a few songs that could be considered an attempt at that time to haul him into the music business, which however did not succeed because the CD was a slow seller has been. He succeeded in making a new start as a musician in 2007 when his first program album “ Historia de Amor ” was released, which has since made him an established artist in Angola, Africa and the lusophone countries.
