Antônio Manoel de Castilho Brandão (born August 14, 1849 in Mata Grande , Alagoas , Brazil ; † March 15, 1910 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Alagoas .

Life

Antônio Manoel de Castilho Brandão received on May 30 in 1874 by the Bishop of Ceará , Joaquim José Vieira , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On September 7, 1894, Pope Leo XIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Belém do Pará . The prefect for Economic Affairs of the Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith , Vincenzo Cardinal Vannutelli , gave him on 18 November the same year in the chapel of the Pontifical Latin American College "Pius" in Rome the episcopal ordination .

On June 22, 1901 Leo XIII appointed him. to the first bishop of Alagoas.
