Anthony is a city in the US state of Kansas and the seat of the administration of Harper County .

Geographical location
Anthony is located at an elevation of 412 m (1,351 feet ) in the center of southern Harper County on the Oklahoma border . Anthony is north of Grant and Alfalfa Counties of Oklahoma, east of Barber Counties , south of Kingman Counties, and west of Sumner Counties .

history
Anthony was founded in 1878. The city was named after the 7th Governor of Kansas, George T. Anthony , while he was in office. In 1878 Harper County , Kansas was restructured. In 1879, Anthony was designated the county's capital.
