Harper County is a county in the state of Kansas in the United States . The county seat is Anthony . The county is part of the dry counties , which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

The county is located in southern Kansas, bordering Oklahoma and has an area of ​​2080 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers are water. In Kansas, it is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Kingman County , Sumner County, and Barber County .

Harper County was formed on February 26, 1867. It was named after Marion Harper , an officer in the American Civil War .
