Lincoln County is a county in the state of Kansas in the United States . The county seat is Lincoln Center .

The county is east of the geographic center of Kansas and covers an area of ​​1,865 square kilometers, of which three square kilometers are water. It is bordered in a clockwise direction by the following counties: Mitchell County , Ottawa County , Saline Counties , Ellsworth County , Russell County, and Osborne Counties .

Lincoln County was formed on February 26, 1867. It was named after Abraham Lincoln , the 16th US President .

According to the 2000 census , Lincoln County had 3,578 people in 1,529 households and 1,039 families in Lincoln County. The population density was 2 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 98.30 percent white, 0.11 percent African American, 0.48 percent Native American, 0.11 percent Asian and 0.25 percent from other ethnic groups; 0.75 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 1.03 percent of the population.
