Comanche County is a county in the state of Kansas in the United States . The county seat is Coldwater . The county is part of the dry counties , which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

The county is located in southern Kansas, bordering Oklahoma and has an area of ​​2045 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers are water. In Kansas, it is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Kiowa County , Barber County, and Clark Counties .

Comanche County was formed on February 26, 1867 from parts of Kiowa County. It was named after the Comanche Indian people .
