The Wyandotte County is a county in the US state of Kansas . The county seat is Kansas City .
Wyandotte County is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area and consists largely of the city of Kansas City, Kansas.
geography
The county is located in northeast Kansas, borders Missouri to the north and northeast , the border being formed by the Missouri River and has an area of 403 square kilometers, of which eleven square kilometers are water. It borders on the following counties:

history
Wyandotte County was formed in 1855 as the original county from parts of the Kansas Territory and is one of the first 33 counties to be formed by the first Territorial Administration. It was named after the Wyandot (te) Indian people .
Wyandotte County has a National Historic Landmark , the Wyandotte National Burying Ground . A total of 41 buildings and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (as of August 30, 2017).

According to the 2010 census , Wyandotte County had 157,505 people in 58,640 households. The population density was 401.8 people per square kilometer.
The racial the population was composed of 54.6 percent white, 25.2 percent African American, 0.8 percent Native American, 2.5 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 3.7 percent were descended from two or more races. Regardless of ethnicity, 26.4 percent of the population was Hispanic or Latino of any race.
