Ness County is a county in the state of Kansas in the United States . The county seat is Ness City .

The county is located in west central Kansas and covers an area of ​​2,784 square kilometers, one square kilometer of which is water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Trego County , Ellis County , Rush County , Pawnee County , Hodgeman County , Finney County , Lane County, and Gove County .

history

Ness County was formed on February 26, 1867. It was named after Noah V. Ness , an officer in the American Civil War .

As of the 2000 census , Ness County had a population of 3,454 people. 79 people lived in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 1516 households and 977 families in Ness County.
