Anthony Edward Pevec

(Anthony) Edward Pevec (born April 16, 1925 in Cleveland , Ohio , † December 14, 2014 in Wickliffe , Ohio) was auxiliary bishop in Cleveland .

Life

Anthony Edward Pevec was ordained a priest on April 29, 1950 . He was vicar in St. Mary in Elyria (1950/52) and St. Lawrence (1953/54). In 1956 he completed a master's degree from John Carroll University and received his doctorate in 1964 from Case Western Reserve University . He was a long-time professor and rector at Borromeo Seminary in Wickliffe and pastor of St. Vitus in Cleveland.

Pope John Paul II appointed him Auxiliary Bishop in Cleveland and Titular Bishop of Mercia on April 13, 1982 . The Bishop of Cleveland Anthony Michael Pilla dedicated it on July 2 of that year, the bishop ; Co- consecrators were Joseph Louis Bernardin , Archbishop of Cincinnati , and William Michael Cosgrove , Bishop of Belleville .

On April 3, 2001, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
