Live and act

Anthony Moore and Peter Blegvad , both students at St. Christopher School in Letchworth Garden City , played in various bands. After school, Moore studied Indian classical music with Viram Jasani in 1969 and wrote his first film music for David Larcher's Mare's Tale . In 1971 Moore moved to Hamburg , where he recorded two albums of experimental music. In 1972 Blegvad also came to Hamburg, and together with Moore's friend and later wife Dagmar Krause , they founded the avant-garde pop band Slapp Happy .

They recorded two albums with the German rock band Faust . Polydor released the album Sort Of in 1972 , but turned down the follow-up album Casablanca Moon . The band then moved to London and re-recorded Casablanca Moon for Virgin Records . The album was released in 1974 as Slapp Happy .

In 1974 and 1975 Slapp Happy played two albums with the art rock band Henry Cow , Desperate Straights and In Praise of Learning . Despite the success, first Moore and then Blegvad left the project to start a solo career each. Krause stayed with Henry Cow; Slapp Happy was over. In 1982/83, 1997 and 2000 there were short musical reunions of Slapp Happy, and in 1991 the three musicians worked together on the television opera project Camera (based on an idea by Krause, Musik Moore, Text Blegvad).

1977 appeared on Virgin Moore's solo album Out , on which Kevin Ayers and Andy Summers had worked. Since there was no commercial success, Virgin terminated the contract with Moore. For smaller record companies he released the albums Flying Doesn't Help (1978) and World Service (1981). Moore subsequently worked as a freelance composer and wrote songs and film scores. The albums he has produced include a. the debut album of This Heat and Angel Station of Manfred Mann's Earth Band (both 1979). He worked with Pink Floyd on two albums, A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) and The Division Bell (1994).

In 1996 Moore was appointed professor at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne , where he was rector from 2000 to 2004 and where he still works today.

In 2002 Moore founded the trio LMS together with Jörg Lindenmaier and Peter C. Simon , which performed in France and Germany.
