Antoine Duijkers

Antoine Duijkers (* 1987 in the Netherlands) is a Dutch drummer and percussionist .

Life

Duikers grew up in the Netherlands and studied jazz and pop drums with René Creemers, Joop van Erven and Joost van Schaik at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Arnheim until his Bachelor's degree in 2010 . He played in various musical projects in the fields of jazz , Latin and free improvisation, as well as in interdisciplinary projects in combination with dance, theater and visual arts.

From 2013 to 2015 he completed a master’s degree at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Michael Küttner , Rainer Polak, Dieter Manderscheid and Frank Gratkowski . He also went on study trips to Ghana and Senegal to be taught Kpanlogo music by Mustapha Tettey Addy and Sabar music from Doudou N'Diaye Rose . He toured with the ethnic band Bush Taxi . He is currently performing in a duo with Filippa Gojo , in the Torque Trio and in the band Jen Brown of the Cologne songwriter Jenny Braunschweig.
