Antonín Bořuta (born October 26, 1988 in Zlín ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with AZ Havířov in the 1st division since 2020 .
Career
Antonín Bořuta began ice hockey at the age of five and later played for the youth teams of the ice hockey club in his hometown, HC Zlín . From 2003 he played for the U18 juniors of the club, from 2005 for the U20 team. During the 2007/08 season he made his debut for the club's professional team in the Extraliga , the country's top division, and made 15 appearances by the end of the season. The performances shown also earned him a nomination for the U20 Junior Ice Hockey World Championship in 2008 , where he finished fifth with the Czech junior selection. Bořuta himself was used in 6 games, in which he reached 1 goal and 1 assist. At the end of the tournament he was named one of the three best players on his team.
From 2008 he was a permanent member of the professional squad of HC Zlín, at the same time he received assignments at VHK Vsetín and HC Olomouc in the second and third division of the Czech Republic.
In April 2010 he made his debut for the Czech national ice hockey team in two games against Switzerland .
Shortly before the play-offs in 2011 Bořuta was loaned to Orli Znojmo . In the summer of 2011, the club from Znojmo moved from the first division to the multinational Austrian ice hockey league (EBEL) and Bořuta was firmly committed by the Znojmo eagles .
Antonín Bořuta is considered an attacking defender and is regularly one of the best scorers on his team.
