Antonín František Bečvařovský

Antonín František Bečvařovský , German also Anton Felix Beczwarzowsky (born April 9, 1754 in Jungbunzlau , Bohemia ; † May 15, 1823 in Berlin ) was a Bohemian organist , pianist and composer .

Life

The pupil of Jan Křtitel Kucharž became organist at the St. Jacob's Church in Prague in 1777 and at the main church in Wolfenbüttel in 1779 . He was also Duke of Braunschweigischer Kapellmeister . He lived in Bamberg from 1796 before moving to Berlin in early 1799, where he stayed until the end of his life.

Bečvařovský was best known as a song composer , especially for his setting of Theodor Körner's Leyer and Schwerdt collection . In addition, he composed piano concertos and sonatas.
