Anton Dean

Anton Dekan (born December 18, 1948 in Hermagor , Carinthia ), pseudonym Tony Dee , is an Austrian writer and musician .

Life

Anton Dekan grew up in his native Hermagor. From 1969 to 1971 he stayed in Düsseldorf . After returning to Austria , after one and a half years in the office of the Carinthian provincial government, he passed the teaching examination and then worked as a vocational school teacher until 1989 . In addition, he worked as a writer, songwriter and musician. From 1991 to 2001 he had his main residence in Vienna and was a country singer under the name Tony Dee . His musical role models are next to the baroque music, the blues and Dixieland u. a. Johnny Cash and John Lennon .

Anton Dekan is the author of a novel (Ritter Verlag, 1981), short prose , plays , poems and his own musical compositions.

He is a member of the GAV (Austrian Authors ' Assembly ), the IG Authors' Authors , the Austrian Dramatists 'Association and the KSV (Carinthian Writers' Association). In 1981 he received the Carinthian Prize for Literature and, at the invitation of Humbert Fink, took part in what was then the Ingeborg Bachmann literary competition. In 2016 he was the winner of the Bleiburg City Literature Prize . He gave readings and staged performances a. a. with Jack Unterweger , Gerhard Rühm , Gunter Gabriel and Jonny Hill . In the martial art Wing Tsun he has the first higher degree. He has been a Reiki master since 2011 and is also a human energetic .

Dean is close to the " New Spiritual Movements " at the end of the 19th century as well as Islamic and interdenominational Sufism and is a member of the Theosophical Society Pasadena / USA and the IGGÖ. He has been a member of the Bahà'ì religion since April 2020 .

Dean is the father of nine children and lives in Mittertrixen / Carinthia .
