Anton Heinen

Anton Heinen (born November 12, 1869 in Buchholz , † January 3, 1934 in Rickelrath ) was a Catholic priest and adult educator.

biography

Anton Heinen was born in 1869 as the son of a teacher in Buchholz near Bedburg , which has now disappeared . After graduating from high school in Bedburg in 1889, he studied theology and philosophy in Bonn . In 1893 he was ordained a priest, headed a journeyman's association as a chaplain, and from 1909 worked as an apologist in the Mönchengladbach headquarters of the Volksverein for Catholic Germany . He published in the association's own publishing house and wrote articles for the Lexikon der Pädagogik, the Staatslexikon, the Handbuch der Erziehungswissenschaften and other compilations. His special concern was adult education . So he and his friend Robert von Erdberg belonged to the inner leadership of the Hohenrodter Bund . Until 1932 he was in charge of the Franz-Wärme Haus in Paderborn and in the last years of his life he was a pastor in Rickelrath .
