Antonino Janner

Antonino Marco Janner (born July 9, 1917 in Basel ; † November 26, 1982 in Muri near Bern ) was a Swiss diplomat . From 1967 to 1970 he was Swiss ambassador to Argentina and from 1978 to 1982 to Italy .

Life

The son of the literary scholar and publicist Arminio Janner was born in Basel and was entitled to live in Bosco / Gurin . After studying law Antonino Janner was with the dissertation changes of enrichment teaching in Swiss law at the University of Basel to the Dr. iur. (Dottore in Law) PhD .

In 1942 he joined the Federal Political Department (EPD) in Bern , where from 1943 he headed the 1st Section ( German Reich ) within the Department for Foreign Interests . From 1945 to 1947 he was a delegation attaché , then until 1949 he was delegation secretary in Rome . Between 1950 and 1952 he took over the management of the East Section, Germany-Austria Group at the EPD. Janner then worked from 1953 to 1961 as legation secretary and later legation counselor at the Swiss legation in Bonn , based in Cologne-Bayenthal . From 1961 he was again active as EPD section head of the section "Political Service East" in Bern and from 1963 he was deputy head of the department for political affairs.

From 1968 to 1970 Janner served as ambassador in Buenos Aires , where he was also accredited in Paraguay and he was then director of the department for administrative affairs of the EPD in Bern until 1977. From 1978 to 1982 he was ambassador to Rome.

Janner has published a number of publications in specialist journals as well as extensive reports, including La puissance protectrice en droit international d'après les expériences faites par la Suisse pendant la seconde guerre mondiale (1948)

Antonino Janner was first married to Anna Keel, and later to Adriana born Janner, the daughter of the National Councilor Adolfo Janner .
