Antonio Corso

Antonio Corso (born April 1, 1916 in San Ramón , Department Canelones , † March 25, 1985 in Maldonado ) was a Uruguayan clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Maldonado-Punta del Este .

Life

Antonio Corso received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Montevideo on October 29, 1939 .

On July 30, 1958, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Moglaena and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Montevideo. The Apostolic Nuncio in Uruguay, Archbishop Alfredo Pacini , donated him episcopal ordination on October 28 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Montevideo, Antonio María Barbieri OFMCap , and the Bishop of Melo , José Maria Cavallero .

On February 26, 1966, Pope Paul VI appointed him . first bishop of Maldonado-Punta del Este.

Antonio Corso attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
