Antonio Fanelli

Antonio Fanelli (born May 29, 1966 in Bari ) is a former Italian cyclist .

Antonio Fanelli won an Italian championship title three times: in 1984 he was the Italian junior master in road racing, in 1986 in the amateurs in the road race and in 1993 in the professional in the standing race , the last Italian championship in this discipline. He was a professional from 1989 to 1996, but he never had any great success on the road.

At the UCI Track World Championships in Valencia in 1992 , Fanelli took third place in the professional standing category. Since the end of his active cycling career, he has been the sporting director of various cycling teams. He is a brother of the cyclist Ivan Fanelli and a brother-in-law of the racing driver Timothy Jones from Zimbabwe .
