Edoardo Severgnini

Edoardo Severgnini (born May 13, 1904 in Milan ; † February 6, 1969 there ) was an Italian track cyclist .

Edoardo Severgnini was one of the strongest track cyclists in Italy in the 1930s. As an amateur he was Italian sprint champion in 1927 and 1928 and started at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 , but could not place. He then turned pro and mainly focused on standing races . In this discipline he was five times Italian champion. At the UCI-Bahn World Championships in Leipzig in 1934 , he finished third among the professional standing, behind the Germans Erich Metze and Paul Krewer . In 1938 he was again third at the World Cup in Amsterdam, again behind two Germans, Metze and Walter Lohmann

Severgnini also drove 13 six-day races and won that of Philadelphia in 1932 together with the American Willie Grimm .
