history
The association was founded in 1925 under the name KS Apollonia . The name originated as a reminiscence of the nearby ancient Greek place Apollonia . Twenty years later, they competed in the Kampionati Shqiptar for the first time . From 1949 the club was simply called Fier , but a year later it was renamed Puna Fier . The name lasted until 1958, when the name returned to KS Apollonia . In 1989 they took part in the European Cup for the first time, but lost both games. In 1992 an "l" was deleted from the name and from then on the name is used. Six years later, the greatest success in the club's history came when they beat KS Lushnja 1-0 in the 1998 cup final and won their only title so far. In 2003 they were relegated from the first division when they lost 3-1 in the relegation game on May 28 against KS Lushnja. In 2006 he returned to the top division for a year, from which he was relegated back to bottom of the table. Already in the 2008/09 season the club was back in the top division. In the 2009/10 championship , however, they came second to last and had to relegate. In the following year, despite a fourth place, they were able to move up again, as the Superiore category was expanded to 14 teams. In the 2012/13 season it came back to relegation as the bottom of the table, but again succeeded in direct promotion. But even in the 2014/15 season , the league was not maintained: As second-to-last, you had to relegate again and have been playing second-rate ever since.
