history

The Apostolic Administration of Estonia was founded on November 1, 1924 by Pope Pius XI. Erected from territory ceded by the Archdiocese of Riga .

From August 15, 1945 to April 15, 1992, the jurisdiction over the Apostolic Administratur Estonia was interrupted de jure , whereby the Holy See spoke of a sedisvacantia rerum politicarum causa , ie a "sedis vacancy for political reasons".
