The Apostolic Prefecture of Yixian ( lat. : Apostolica praefectura Yihsienensis ; Chinese  天主教易县监牧区 , Pinyin Tiānzhǔ Jiao Yi Xiàn Jiānmǔqū ) is in the People's Republic of China Located Roman Catholic Apostolic Prefecture , located in the district of Yi .

history

The Yixian Apostolic Prefecture ( Yixian means "Yi District") was founded on May 6, 1931 by Pope Pius XI. Established as a mission sui juris Yixian from the assignments of territory by the Apostolic Vicariates Beijing and Baoding . The mission sui juris Yixian was founded on January 8, 1938 by Pius XI. with the Apostolic Constitution Si in enascenti raised to the Apostolic Prefecture.
