The Arbeitsgemeinschaft Natur- und Umweltbildung (ANU) is the umbrella organization for environmental education institutions in Germany as well as for initiatives and individuals active in environmental education. The ANU has over 1,000 members.

history

In 1988 the ANU was initially founded as a loose association of environmental education institutions. In 1990 the work was organizationally improved with the establishment of the registered association.

structure

The ANU is divided into a federal association and 14 regional associations. The federal association and the regional associations are each independent, non-profit and registered associations.

  • Lobbying for the member institutions by informing decision-makers in politics and administration about the issues of environmental education , nature education and nature and environmental education .
  • Support the members by organizing an exchange of information among each other and advising new members

Projects

Light pole

Implementation of a nationwide training project Leuchtpol for educators for education for sustainable development in kindergartens with a focus on energy and the environment. From September 2009, Leuchtpol was active nationwide, eight regional offices carried out the training on site. The project, which will run for four years, was financed by E.ON with € 27 million.

In Schleswig-Holstein , Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , 26 five-day Leuchtpol training courses for educational specialists were carried out by the Save Our Future foundation .

The topic of sustainability was promoted in consultation day-care centers.

Leuchtpol supported daycare centers in their work with the traveling exhibition The Cow in the Fridge .

At the Erdfest , the ANU is one of the initiators along with numerous others such as the ecumenical initiative Eine Welt, the Michael Succow Foundation , the Future Foundation for Agriculture , Schweisfurth Foundation , Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies . Selbach Environment Foundation , Cocreatio Foundation, Blooming Landscape Network , forum for sustainable management and others, funded by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation .
